What do Pope Francis and some famous rock stars and celebrities like Steven Tyler, Aerosmith and Jay Leno have in common?
Believe it or not, an interest in Harley-Davidson Motorcycles and they have the same taste in art.
David Uhl of Golden has captivated people around the world — and from all walks of life — by capturing the spirit of these mechanical masterpieces on canvas like no one else.
He’s considered to be the best, and he’s the only artist with permission from Harley to use their bikes in his work. His paintings hang in the homes of celebrities like Jay Leno, and Aerosmith front man Steven Tyler.
But his biggest thrill was just a short time ago, when he met Pope Francis and gave him gave his original painting, “Chance Encounter”.
“My God, I was humbled by the opportunity to be there and blown away by the art collection. No adjectives to describe that,” Uhl said of his meeting with the Pontiff. “ I had my little painting. I felt like the little drummer boy giving him that thing.”
